▼ General info
***This is a community maintained space. ***
Most things you’ll need are at the cabin for cooking, being warm, and comfy. We ask guests to clean up after themselves and leave the space as they found it.
We have sheets, comforther covers, and blankets. Please allow enough time for clean up including laundry. Some guests bring their own sheets, pillowcases, or sleeping bags for a quicker wrap up and others use Mugworts’ bedding and wash them in the morning. We now have a washer and dryer!!! Laundry takes 2 hours. We provide natural cleaning supplies in the kitchen and bathroom.
If anything seems amiss, breaks or is running low please let us know by emailing us. We usually don’t visit the cabin in between guests and may not be aware of issues. Emergency contacts are posted on the fridge if something more urgent goes awry.
▼Connectivity
There is wireless internet in the main cabin. The password is on the modem, some have found the connection a little slow. There is a cell signal for most carriers, some guests find limited cell service while on the land.
▼ Accessibility
The cabin is not fully ADA or wheelchair accessible at this time, we plant to be as we grow and fundraise. Currently there is a gravel parking lot with cement walk to the front door of the cabin. There is a 3” ledge on the doorstep into the main room. The downstair bathroom door has a curtain (and no door) until we can install an ADA compliant door. There are no hold bars on the shower or toilet at this time. There are 7 cement steps and an uneven pathway to the upper cabin. The loft bed in the upper studio has a very steep ladder. In the studio there is a small half bath with sliding door.
▼ Animal Companions
Animal Companions are welcome! Please bring a sheet to throw over furniture for folks who are allergic. Be sure to clean up after your animal friend, including any poop in the yard and vacuuming any upholstery they may have been in contact with.
▼ Fragrance Free Space
Please keep this a fragrance free space to make it accessible for others. We provide scent free soaps and cleaners. Please do not burn insence or scented candles indoors, and if you smoke, please smoke away from the buildings and make sure to clean up any smoke related things. If you’re new to fragrance-free practices, you can learn more about them at this link, compiled by the East Bay Meditation Center.
▼ Neighbors
Please say hi to the neighbors if you see them ! They are nice and we want to build community with them and respect the neighborhood. Please keep quiet hours starting at 10 pm.
▼ Payment
The cost of the cabin per night is $70. Our sliding scale is $55-$150 per night. The so called "value" of the cabin in $150+ per night.
Please self assess what you can contribute to this not-for-profit community resource. This link offers some sliding scale guidelines you might find useful. The minimum amount to make a reservation is $55.00 a night. Please use the lodgify "add ons" to choose the amount you contribute. If you are not able to pay at the time of your reservation or would like additional options for payment, email us for alternative arrangements.
All the money goes directly to covering expenses* and never to individual profit (*taxes, utilities, insurance, internet, repairs).
▼ Community Partners: As we open Mugworts up and the calendar fills more quickly, we want to figure out how to prioritize access for community groups, grassroots organization and social justice projects. In 2018 we will reserve the last weekend of every month for this. If you would like one of these spots email us!! If you are a group, org, or project and want a different spot email us too! If these weekends are not reserved, they will open 14 days before the date.
